TMRAO ADDS NEW DELTA NON-STOP SERVICE TO
ATLANTA/SALT LAKE CITY!
Montrose Regional Airport to be served by Delta from Atlanta & Salt Lake City - Winter 2006/2007
TELLURIDE, May 23, 2006 – Delta Air Lines will begin new eight times weekly service between Salt Lake City, and the Montrose Regional airport and between Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International airport and Montrose on Saturdays this coming winter. The Salt Lake City Service is Effective December 14, 2006 and The Atlanta Service is Effective December 16, 2006. Service from Salt Lake City will be on the quiet and comfortable 50 seat CRJ200 regional jet aircraft and from Atlanta on the 142 seat MD88 jet aircraft.

They have a strong route network that should provide additional service options out west with service from and through Salt Lake City and in Florida and the Southeast via the Atlanta service.”
“Delta is pleased to offer service to Telluride/Montrose via the Montrose Regional Airport, an area rich in natural beauty and full of recreational opportunities desired by many leisure travelers,” said Bob Cortelyou, Delta’s vice president of Network Planning. “The reach and convenience of our Atlanta hub will make it easier for Telluride/Montrose area customers to reach most any point on the globe, whether their final destination is Atlanta or Athens, Greece.”
In 2006 Delta is continuing to aggressively transform its network to expand into new or underserved markets to bring our customers one-stop access to the world. The new flights will connect customers to nearly 200 worldwide destinations via Atlanta and over 100 destinations via Salt Lake City.

Delta’s flagship hub at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is the world’s largest airline hub at the busiest airport in the world. With its winter 2006 schedule, Delta and the Delta Connection carriers will offer more than 1,000 peak-day departures to nearly 230 non-stop destinations from Atlanta – more non-stop flights and destinations than any airline hub in the world. Delta’s Atlanta hub is the fastest growing international gateway in the United States, with more than 25 new international markets announced since September 2005. Delta also continues to expand the number of domestic destinations it serves from Atlanta, including more than 20 new non-stop destinations added or announced since September 2005. This December, Delta will make history in Atlanta again as it enters a new continent from the hub for the first time since 1997 with new service to Dakar, Senegal and Johannesburg, South Africa (via Dakar) (subject to foreign government approvals).

The Telluride Montrose Regional Air Organization focuses on actively pursuing air service to meet local and visitor traveler demand. This is often facilitated through revenue guarantee agreements with air carriers. The estimated yearly direct guest spending economic impact to the region, due to TMRAO’s air program is over $50 Million Dollars and the combined economic activity in the region due to the Telluride and Montrose Airports is over $200 Million Dollars.

A portion of travel for some itineraries may be on the Delta Connection carriers: Atlantic Southeast Airlines, Comair and SkyWest Airlines.
The Telluride Montrose Regional Air Organization (TMRAO) is pleased to announce new Delta Airlines Service to Montrose from Salt Lake City and Atlanta. The Salt Lake City service will be daily (1X Sunday-Friday with 2x on Saturday) and the Atlanta service will operate on Saturdays only. The Salt Lake City service will start on December 21, 2006 and the Atlanta service on December 23, 2006. With the new Delta service we can expect service to the Telluride and Montrose Airports from eight (8) different non-stop destinations (Phoenix, Denver, Dallas, Houston, Newark, Chicago, Salt Lake City, Atlanta) on five (5) different air carriers which will also provide eight (8) hub airports for convenient connections from almost all markets in the US and many International markets. Getting to Telluride/Montrose is even easier now!
